Random Thoughts: No Homo

Why do people feel the need to say "no homo"?  Saying this to me immediately sends up a red flag...you are a person who is not comfortable with or sure about your sexuality.  Otherwise, why would you feel the need to say that?

Do you use this term?  If so...why?

  1. This term is used because sometimes people take what you say out of context. I do say this phrase to avoid misinterpretations and to spare myself from ridicule from friends. It has nothing to do with me not being comfortable with my sexuality.

  2. I guess I just don't have friends like that. One time I told a woman she had pretty eyes and she attempted to mis-take that. I very kindly let her know that even if I was into women...I'd have higher standards...that shut her down and shut her up...and made her look stupid to a group of our peers. I just smiled my bitchy lil smile that I'm so fond of and sashayed away. I bit my tongue before I told her the only thing pretty about her were her eyes. Ok, that just took me back and pissed me off again like 11 years later. LMAO *yes I have some aggression issues*

  3. I hear it mostly from teens and twenties. I don't hear anyone over 35 saying that. It's kind of silly after a while.

  4. I guess it's something the teens and 20's say. Most people are unsure about so many things in those age brackets. But, it's an expression, a fad, so I don't read too much into it.
